How can you help?

We’re currently searching for a bilingual Portuguese and Japanese Linguist to work on several NLP and Speech Recognition projects as a Project Manager.


The job of the project manager will be to recruit and manage other linguists and/or annotators and most projects will consist of reading a variety of scenarios and reviewing the annotations of subjects, predicates, indirect/direct objects, and prepositions. The project manager will confirm the annotations are correct - and if needed, fix the annotations too. 


You will also be involved in obtaining/creating the linguistic resources needed in the creation of an ASR (automatic speech recognition) system. Examples of these resources are (but might not be limited to):


  • (Phonetic) lexica
  • Grapheme to phoneme tools
  • Text normalization tools
  • Lemmatizers, stemming tools
  • Part of speech taggers


  • Degree in Linguistics or greater
  • Native Portuguese/Japanese
  • Well versed in phonetics/phonology and morphology,
  • Detail oriented and good time management skills working under a very fast paced environment
  • C2 level in English, other languages are a plus 
  • Willing to relocate to Lisbon for a full-time position
